The AUTOPO routine tries to create a mesh with nice edge flow. It uses a curvature field over the surface. But it is not always possible to create a clean curvature cross field because of noisy details on the model's surface. So it is helpful to draw directional guidelines using the Retopo->Strokes tool. You may do this during the next step of this wizard. Add strokes or slices to provide better cues for the AUTOPO algorithm. There are 3 parameters below: Intermediate resolution means that initial mesh will be reduced to this resolution before starting the procedure. The larger the intermediate mesh, the longer the procedure will take. Approximate polycount refers to the number of polygons you want for your exported model. Additional smoothing steps are used to smooth the mesh and hide noisy details. You can set it to 0 if you want to get sharper details. |
