This was the quality praised by Bernard Berenson in his "History of the Italian Renaissance". He referred to it as "the tactile imagination" and it included a sense of motion or potential motion.Always that tangible essence of a real world object where the viewer can imagine tracing their hand over the forms and know how it feels.

Hair, just using the basic tools under voxels mode. They're just fine for me. I can't say the same for surf / LC modes.

It's the behavior of the simple tools of vox mode that I prefer.
I also had some interesting results on sculptris meshes after importing in LC mode. I like sculptris tools very much but there's a limitation in performance on >1-1.5 M meshes. LC is great for fine details then. I just tested it because it's not my usual workflow.
