Advanced Member L'Ancien Regime Posted December 26, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) Now if they do this and they're working on Pixar OpenSubD, then Blender will rule the CG world! https://developer.blender.org/D56 http://www.blenderartist.org/forum/showthread.php?319079-Advice-for-test-OpenSubdiv-integration Edited December 26, 2013 by L'Ancien Regime
Contributor ajz3d Posted December 26, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted December 26, 2013 (edited) This looks fantastic. However, I have a trouble finding BSurfaces tab that supposed to appear somewhere on the T-panel. And I have the addon enabled. /User error/ Edited December 26, 2013 by ajz3d
Contributor ajz3d Posted December 27, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted December 27, 2013 (edited) I tried BSurfaces on a couple of sculptures and the speed they are offering when covering large areas of reference mesh is amazing. I wish 3D Coat's strokes were that fast. However BSurfaces, like all 3D Coat tools have serious problems with thin surfaces, especially when dealing with real sized sculptures (clothes on a man). Nevertheless, they are something that I wish made tgeir way into 3DC. And what I really dream of, is the implementation of Kenshi Takayama's "Sketch-Based Generation and Editing of Quad Meshes" (mentioned by Otsoa and Carlos in the V4 Beta thread: http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10395&page=124#entry97991 & http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10395&page=124#entry97993).
