Advanced Member Ratchet Posted January 28, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) Hi, I made some Retopo volumes and voxelized them in Voxel room. Then i made a copy of the new voxel object and translated that copy, coming back to retopo room, the retopology tried to adapt to the new voxel copy also. It would be good to be able to lock retopo volumes that would never try to adjust to voxels whatever we sculpt in Voxel Room. (3D coat is not far from a complete hard surface modeling app in Retopo room) Edited January 28, 2015 by Ratchet
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted January 28, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted January 28, 2015 Not sure what all is going on, but it seems like you had CONFORM RETOPO MESH turned on in the Toolbar of the Sculpt room, when you made the TRANSFORM or copy. Uncheck that when making copies and moving them.
Advanced Member Ratchet Posted January 28, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 28, 2015 I don't see that option in 3D Coat menu. But i figured out it's a bug in 3D coat , because insteda of copying and creating a totally new voxel volume the Retopo did not try to adapt to that new volume. Carlosan
Conform option is here Autosnap is off ? Feature request -fell free to add a +1- 0000750: Retopo: to be able to ghost retopo group
Advanced Member Ratchet Posted January 28, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 28, 2015 In fact i don't see tha option in Sculpt mode in the menu (i'm using 4.5 beta) And i unchecked the AutoSnap. I have no problem when i create new voxel volume, the problem is when you copy a voxel already having retopo.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted January 28, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) When you clone an object under the vox tree tab the transform tool comes up and in the top bar menu ( not the transform tool panel) turn off Conform Retopo Mesh. Conform Retopo Mesh selection box shown in first picture. Now you can translate the clone and the retopo mesh will not move with the clone. In the picture on the left you see what happens when you leave Conform Retopo Mesh selected and translate the clone. On the right side is with Conform Retopo Mesh deselected. Another way is just to hide the retopo mesh (retopo group layer panel) and it will not move with the clone when you translate it... Conform Retopo Mesh can stay selected... If you have a lot of retopo layers that might get tedious but it is a way... Now you can clone the retopo mesh for it's own retopo group and move it over the new voxel / surface mode clone. Model shown not for quality but just to show how things work... The above does not mean a lock retopo group layer where 3DC will not touch it is not a good idea. Confrom Retopo Mesh was added as result of users request for that feature... Edited January 28, 2015 by digman
