Open VDB support/implementation

I did a quick search and it doesn't seem this has been discussed yet, but I was curious if there is any chance of 3d-coat gaining OpenVDB support/implementation for it's voxel room. http://www.openvdb.org/ I don't know 3d-coat well enough yet to know the ins and outs of it's voxel implementation, but it certainly looks like OpenVDB implementation would be an upgrade in functionality.

This Contributor License Agreement (“CLA”) applies to any Contributions from any person or entity (“Contributor” or “You”) to DreamWorks Animation SKG Inc. (“DreamWorks”), and sets out the intellectual property rights You grant to DreamWorks in the contributed materials.

 

2. Grant of Copyright License. Subject to the terms and conditions of this Agreement, You hereby grant to DreamWorks and to recipients of software distributed by DreamWorks a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, no-charge, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute Your Contributions and such derivative works.

Yes, they are clear, which is why software development companies such as SideFX, Solid Angle and Pixar all contribute code to the OpenVDB project, yet retain full commercial rights to the software packages they develop and sell.

 

 The contributors license governs contributions of code to be included in OpenVDB, not software packages that implement and support OpenVDB.
