Advanced Member Grimm Posted September 1, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 1, 2015 I was adding layers in the paint room and hit the 7 layer limit on the number of layers I could open. I got a nice popup that listed the limitations of the EDU version. There was one on the list that isn't on the buy-now page. That is, "you can't export 32 bit displacement maps". Is this true? It would explain why I was having all those problems exporting my displacement maps. If true why is it not listed on the buy-now page? When I was trying to export 32bit displacements I didn't get any popups or warning messages.
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted September 2, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted September 2, 2015 I can ensure you that i had Edu and the only limitations it had was the ones clearly listed on buy page. Plus if you duplicate the layers you have have more than 7 , reported this as a bug a looooong time ago.
Advanced Member Grimm Posted September 2, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 2, 2015 That's cool, it's probably something that didn't get removed. I can't remember if I ever got the displacement maps to work or not, I just know I had lots of problems doing it. I will have to play around with it some more. Javis
Hey, I don't ever recall that being a limitation. Though there is a major bug with exporting displacement maps. They almost always end up completely grey these days. It's reported fwiw. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
Advanced Member Grimm Posted September 3, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 3, 2015 Thanks Javis, The message should probably be updated, although I don't know if you have access to that part? Jason
