Member maddam Posted April 9, 2015 Member Report Share Posted April 9, 2015 is it possible to add gloss and metalness control in the standard pbr shader in the sculpt room? As far as i can tell, youcan control only the diffuse color and transparency. if working in surface mode, you can go to the paint room and "paint" the gloss and metalness but this won't work with voxel. i really love the pbr look but without control over gloss and metalness it is pretty useless in sculpt with voxel. Javis
Yes and no. You are correct in assuming that PBR doesn't work with voxels, directly. Painting only works with vertex maps, which is only supported with polygons, thus, surface mode. You can however, sculpt with voxels and vertex paint with surface mode, and bounce between the two. 3DC will attempt to retain as much of your vertex paint when going between the two modes as much as possible. So it is possible, just not directly on voxels.
Member maddam Posted April 28, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted April 28, 2015 well, yes you can paint to vertex map but as soon as you turn back your object to voxel (because i want to sculpt in woxel mode:)) you loose the pbr setting. All i want is a simple flat shader with control on diffuse, gloss and metalness for voxel. that wait i could for instance have clay like shader or a metal like shader while working in voxel. I find the pbr shader more useful for sculting than the mapcap.
