Member StriderX Posted October 9, 2008 Member Report Share Posted October 9, 2008 Vector textures could provide a way to have an almost unlimited resolution for UV's and can enable the use of fractal textures while still providing a low memory footprint. I'm no programmer but I did find a document on the subject. What do you think?

Andrew Shpagin
Btw, I want to make unlimited materials, I know all - how to do it, etc. It will be huge boost for artists because they will be able to get huge textures 16k x 16k easily but have no enough arms for this task... There is so many advantages in using procedural materials... You can paint transparency masks per layers - for exalple leaps, different types of skin, etc. You can paint all this at low res and then get hi-res picture at the end. But all this requires time...
