YouTube: Paid content

So for the first time I have stumbled upon a paid content on YouTube. What do you think about this move from Google? Will this mean that the number of free independent tutorials will diminish? Would it mean a migration of users to Vimeo, or make them accept the new reality and pay for a subscription, or simply purchase the videos, which is also an option (are they DRM-free?).

I can see a potential in this - a counterweight to Netflix or video shops if prices are low and the purchased content is DRM-free, but I also see all independent tutorials being non-free - because everyone wants to earn some bucks for their hard work. :)

What do you think guys?

vimeo has paid content too...

i dont think it will reduce number of free tutorials. people who make them for youtube do it because they want to share.

there are plenty of ways to already sell tutorials.
