Hi guys!

Can you guess what's coming?

Quad strips as requested by community in response to RetopoFlow for Blender. Early alpha preview ;)

This is so cool! It's nice to see RetopoFlow has inspired others :) Feel free to check out our source code, it's all GPL: https://github.com/cgcookie/retopoflow

Hi.

I did some retopo tools for blender called MiraTools. They have some cool retopo. You  can take my code if you want.

This is the side of the Blender community that I really like! So many great people there, so willing to share and help out! Thanks so much Jonathan!

RetopoFlow in Blender is great, but RetopoFlow in 3D-Coat would be a dream come true! (for me at least)

not sure if this is the right place to post, but some kind of visual feedback while painting guides like this would kick ass!

Yes please make auto-retopo more like this in 3D-coat! The source code for the program shown in the video is available on Github. Please have a look at it Farsthary! Maybe it will give you some good ideas for 3D-Coat!

The source code is here:

pilgway is already informed about the "instant field" project. Thank you for your postings.

:)

@Don: Very nice hint. I will take a look on the mira tools too. I started to work in blender some months ago. I miss some tools but the first results looks very promising.

At the heart of several tools that I have developed in the past lays a contour partitioning algorithm. It was robust and could handle arbitrary contour shapes, but recently I got a bug report assigned related to CloseHoles tool, and after a careful debugging I found that the partition was indeed robust, but not “clean” enough, it could sometimes create fan like splits which was actually undesired.
What started as a routine bug hunt ended up improving greatly the code for a much more neat contour partition algorithm.

Can we please have this feature (tube) on our next release?

Is it too hard to achieve?

Have more than 120 commercial 3d models (characters) to retopo and i dont want to get into Topogun , i want to continue working with 3D Coat for the retopo
