Going Camera -> Background -> add XYZ ref image does not do the trick. Works fine here. Are you in the Voxel Room? Maybe if you zoom out you can see it. That video explained/showed how to do that toward the end, but in case you missed it, you can click the the HIDE ALL button, or SHOW/HIDE for just one image plane.
