Advanced Member L'Ancien Regime Posted March 16, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) All too often I'm in an orthogonal view and I'll make some move and throw the plane out. No other 3d program allows this kind of inconvenience; Orthogonal Planes should be locked or lockable Edited March 16, 2015 by L'Ancien Regime
Contributor ajz3d Posted March 16, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted March 16, 2015 Hi. There is an option that allows it. If you take a closer look at toggles inside the Customize Navigation window, you'll notice that you can disable certain events when you're In Orthography mode.
Advanced Member L'Ancien Regime Posted March 17, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 I think an orthogonal view lock should be simpler and easier to use than that..
Contributor ajz3d Posted March 17, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 It's one checkbox. How much simpler do you want it to be?
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted March 17, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 Uh, one checkbox where? I don't see an "Action Type" for anything but "Rotate Around Vertical",
Contributor ajz3d Posted March 17, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) Depends on what kind of event you use for rotation. For camera rotation around a pick point or object, it can be NAVI_ZB or Rotate in Screen Space. Unchecking In Ortography will prevent this event from working in orthographic mode. Reputable Contributor digman Posted March 17, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) I think an orthogonal view lock should be simpler and easier to use than that.. I agree here... We have some room for a Lock view Icon... It is not hard to change a Nav. setting but more convenient in the upper toolbar for turning off and on...
