Member metrons Posted July 26, 2015 Member Report Share Posted July 26, 2015 you can see the power of something like this. you can manipulate your camera and your sculpt so quickly in vr. this is incredible i think. can we get some type of support for upcoming VR headsets? is this at all in the timeline for 3dcoat? Contributor ajz3d Posted July 26, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 26, 2015 Interesting idea, but I can sculpt the objects this guy is sculpting in almost the same time without using any VR tech negatively affecting my eyes nor any hand gizmos - just with a monitor and an Intuos. I think it's much more comfortable than having to stare at the monitors located ~1cm from my eyes, wearing a heavy helmet on my head, and waving around with some weird joysticks in my hands. I'm not convinced. Augmented reality might be a better choice.
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted July 26, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted July 26, 2015 Already using 3d coat with dk2 via vistual desktop. Cant even think to use it with a monitor again. With the new dk2 controllers (2016) this will be possible (without the AR part) it only needs some extra commands for rotating.
