Paint Room Roadmap - Lets suggest one!

Recommended Posts

Someone suggested in another thread making a user-created 3DC roadmap of sorts, so I thought why not? Lets try it!
Everyone can suggest and discuss what improvements they'd like to see the most.
This isn't meant to take away from other rooms getting work done on them, its just the times when work on the paint room is done its on features people really want.

Anyhow, here's an initial list of potential changes to get the discussion started (with links to their mantis reports when applicable), split based on how complex they'd probably be to implement (and thus how much time/effort would need to go into them).

Complexity - Simple:
-Color pick from anywhere on screen, not just in viewport.
-Wireframe opacity setting.

-Show exactly where layers will be placed when moving via drag-drop.
-Texture View option to turn off tiling.

Complexity - Standard and Major:
-Ability to select and perform actions on multiple layers at once (merge, move, delete, etc.)
-Ability to paint anywhere on texture, and padding settings.
-Brush blur/shift changed to work on higher resolution textures.
-Layer thumbnails
-Brush feature to wrap around surface (so that even at sharp angles the paint wont cut out)
-Option to paint directly in screenspace in viewport (possible in realtime without the baking step used by other apps?)
-UDIM tiled UV support (like in Mari)
-PBR texturing workflow support
