Member Sladus Posted July 19, 2014 Member Report Share Posted July 19, 2014 There are male models to start projects with. Where are the female models?

Advanced Member alvordr Posted July 20, 2014 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 20, 2014 Great question. Sometimes the models that are included with 3D software come from generous users. If you would like to donate one to Andrew, I'm sure he would consider putting one in. For a quick head start on human figures, you could also try MakeHuman. It's free and does a really good job of getting a quick base mesh down. You can import an obj from it into 3D Coat.

The figures are generic human enough that either the mannequin or the other human preset can be tweaked to female proportions. Maybe BeatKitno can donate one of his female models? Contributor ajz3d Posted July 20, 2014 Contributor Report Share Posted July 20, 2014 By default, there's only a female bust available. Search for the file called Generic_Bust_Female_Angular.3b in the 3DC installation directory. I have no idea why it isn't included on the start screen. Regarding a full female model: with MakeHuman freely available... Its only disadvantage is that it doesn't provide a mannequin model, such as 3DC provides for a male figure, so the model can be difficult to pose in our sculpting software. But if you want to sculpt in a relaxed pose, it's sufficient.
Advanced Member Ghastly Posted July 25, 2014 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 25, 2014 MakeHuman provides a pretty good start. I still have a copy of the Alpha 7 release and an Alpha 7 Daz Studio rigged mesh so I can pose the figure in Daz, tweak it a bit in Hexagon and then send it 3D Coat for the detailing. I'm hoping Make Human will come up with a proper Unimesh design in new versions comparable to the A7 mesh. Then I'll rig that mesh for Daz and use it as the base for 3D Coat sculpting.
