Member AlphaGrunt Posted November 20, 2014 Member Report Share Posted November 20, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUJSbDcMsQM&feature=youtu.be How do I get this functionality in 3D Coat? I want to apply textures via the use of masks and see "realtime" the effect the pattern is having on the design, is that possible? I also would like to know how to expand an applied mask (or inverse of the mask) to create a uniform extrusion of that pattern around the entire design??? I know that using the fill tool in the paint room you can do something similar but even that doesn't achieve what I am after, which is basically exactly what you see in the video. Carlosan
I asked for a Noise Maker equivalent at 31 January 2014 http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10395&page=184&p=104960#entry104960 and here too http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15127&p=104990 Procedural Textures making patterns at Paint Room is something that dev team are working atm... as you can see here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7j8rxsdds8szyzr/AAB3V_2Jdv6hBpgGtQk4Bpk_a Realtime view ? Materials are painted, not live update currently - just like before but more smartly. In future there will be live update and it will be possible to assign material as effect per layer. so im waiting the next beta release to know the new tools sorry if i cant be more specific, i still havent any info about. Javis
Surface mode as a pretty decent Noise generator for that type of stuff, on sculptures.
