Advanced Member wilson66 Posted November 5, 2014 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 5, 2014 When baking with normal map, I get very strange occlusion artifacts. Screenshot: I have absolutely no idea where the light gray parts of the texture are coming from. They should be the same dark gray color as everything else. It is a single object, with no other objects exisiting in those areas that could block the occlusion rays. What could be the reason for this? I'm lost. Contributor Tony Nemo Posted November 5, 2014 Contributor Report Share Posted November 5, 2014 It goes to the adjustment of the inner and outer cages. Just a guess but it may be that your 'inner' cage is poking through to the out side, Delete this faulty object in the Paint room Sub Objects list (so you wont bake a new cube with the old one still around) and return to Retopo where you can preview the Inner and Outer cages, You may need to increase the Inner cage parameter.

Sounds about right. Let us know how it works for you Wilson66, if you can.
