Just saw it , exactly what David told me this morning and what i was doing with one small difference....

 

Instead of thr free green line i created orange section like step 1 and it was not working.

Your tutorials are some of the very best our there Chris.

 

I was using it wrong. 

 

To be accurate half of the times correct half of the times wrong so this gave me the wrong feeling about tool not working correctly or having a bug.

 

After that i completely skipped the tool.

Software, as complex tools, despite potentially allow more freedom, are making us dumber and more limited artists.

 

Your long term grow will depend on not becoming any particular software acolyte. Despite how awesome it is now but to love the flow.

 

Lots of work today on QuadStrip tool, started coding the intersection detection for later split and welding

Solved and optimized exclusive strips end welding (allow only one weld per free quad edge, preventing non manifolds)

What about junctions that include vertices of valence equal to 5 or 6?

Valence of 5 is pretty damn common.

Yes, that will be the polishing iteration and after that I will go back to fix QuadPaint filling algorithm too as the competence is starting to implement similar features ;)
