Advanced Member online offworld Posted January 11, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 11, 2012 Hi Everyone, Brand new to 3D Coat, have been learning it for the last week or two, this is what I've got: I used this image as a reference: After learning the retopology tools tonight, I have to say how blown away I am with how great 3D Coat is, congrats to the devs who've built such a cool bit of software. Advanced Member paulrus Posted January 11, 2012 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 11, 2012 Thank you - you've made the point I tried to make with Andrew when he was looking for names when it was still 3D Brush.... To a native English speaker, that's what I think of when I hear 3D coat....

Advanced Member online offworld Posted January 12, 2012 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 12, 2012 re the arms, yeah a little bit Now I have to learn how to texture... am I right to sculpt first then paint? So once you start painting, you can't go back to voxel sculpting?

So once you start painting, you can't go back to voxel sculpting? You can go back and make changes, but instead of merging again, you want to access the texture baking tool inside the Retopo Room. It's in the TEXTURES menu. Just bake out a normal map and then import that into the Paint Room. TEXTURES > IMPORT> Normal Map. Can can blend the new with the old or just turn the depth down on the layer with the old.
