Contributor Malo Posted February 3, 2015 Author Contributor Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 A little scene from me I have creatd it for a friend. Created with Blender, 3d Coat and Substance Painter. Render with Blender Cycles. What did you think Any suggestions?
Reputable Contributor digman Posted February 3, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted February 3, 2015 (edited) Very nice rendering and composition.. Suggestions all depended upon what your friend wants of course... Slight DOF the background to separate the foreground interest which is your main focus in the image. Some Texturing differences between the two sitting scuptures and maybe sculpt some slight differences between them to break the symmetry look... That looks like a hanging clolth so run the cloth sim using pinning to make some small ruffles variations in the fabric. Not talking about large folds here but small variations... Contributor ajz3d Posted October 17, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted October 17, 2015 (edited) What is the HDR panorama you're using in your video? Where can it be downloaded/bought from? The panorama seems to be fairly neutral and thus perfect for texturing. Edited October 17, 2015 by ajz3d
Contributor Malo Posted October 18, 2015 Author Contributor Report Share Posted October 18, 2015 I use one of the HDR that ship with Substance Designer. Not sure if you could download or buy it separatly.

Reputable Contributor digman Posted October 18, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted October 18, 2015 (edited) The video though in German was easy to follow... If I do not want any color cast from the HDRI image, I select "GreyScale Panorama" under the View menu... Contributor Malo Posted November 2, 2015 Author Contributor Report Share Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Because of that. Both sides would look similar. Maybe nobody would realize it if it looks similar, but i think it looks better in that way. Would you prefer to overlap it? Contributor Malo Posted January 4, 2016 Author Contributor Report Share Posted January 4, 2016 Thanks Digman Yes, i like this workflow a lot. Fill Layers in Painter are such a great addition. I wish we could have something like that in 3d coat. It helps a lot to be work in a non destructiv workflow.
Taros
Thanks Digman Yes, i like this workflow a lot. Fill Layers in Painter are such a great addition. I wish we could have something like that in 3d coat. It helps a lot to be work in a non destructiv workflow. We already have the first step to do this by filling layers. But the only thing and the most important thing is missing: The filled layer in 3DC is not linked to the used smart material. If this would be solved, then we would have a great software with 3D-Coat. I have already send a concept to pilgway for implementing this. We need this functionality while game development every day and begin to "test" substance painter because of this missed feature in 3DCoat... To pilgway: Don't wait too long...
