Advanced Member Ballistic_Tension Posted November 28, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 28, 2015 ppp room is there a way to see what material one puts in a layer. even with putting 1 color / smart material on each layer as for control I still cant see what it is? I know the color picker, and turn off all layers but one to see it on the model. Then I can then start the click fest of guessing . wondering others workflow for this. Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 28, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) Yes, the below does not fully answer your question but does limit the click fest in someways... In the paint room: First select the layer you wish to isolate. Next hold down the ALT key and left click the visibility eye icon by the selected layer. All other layers will turn off and only the isolated layer will be visible... To turn all layers back on, repeat the above steps... Very fast for knowing what material you did place on a certain layer though it does not really answer your question. It would be great if we had a pop up image when we hover over a layer that shows what is on that layer. Right now, Good folder creation and naming plus layer naming and the above method can at least limit click festing. Other users might come in with more suggestions on their workflows... Advanced Member Tarby Posted November 28, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 28, 2015 I've always liked the Photoshop way of right clicking on a layer wit hthe Move Tool current, which brings up a list of layers below where the cursor is if they they're not transparent at that pixel.
