Advanced Member Aleksey Posted November 15, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 15, 2015 is there a way to rotate the viewport like a barrel roll? i have a character standing up and i want to write something on his leg, so i need to turn him like on a spinnging wheel, so i can write on his leg. like in modo, you can rotate by clicking on the edge of the screen and it rotates in 2d space, not 3d space. i hope that makes sense. Reputable Contributor digman Posted November 15, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) Go to the Camera menu / Custom Navigation / Choose 3D-Coat_Arrows Return to the Camera menu and at the bottom of the listing is where you choose your rotational axis for your model, Select the one that is best for your model. Now hold down the Alt and use the arrows keys on your keyboard to rotate (spinning wheel) the model. Done... It's easy to do with a 3Dconnexion device, but I'm not aware of a way, otherwise. Trackball rotation has been requested many times and for quite a while. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted November 15, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted November 15, 2015 or Setup.jpg Thanks for the tip on that. Didn't know Andrew added the ability to use trackball type rotation.
