Advanced Member alvordr Posted October 31, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 31, 2013 Oh, wow! Very nice. I love the textures and bump. Why is there a crack on the mouth?
Contributor Malo Posted October 31, 2013 Author Contributor Report Share Posted October 31, 2013 Thanks. Fight with a bird. That was a suggestion in a different forum. I should try to give the head more character, make use of scratches and stuff like that. To much?
Contributor BeatKitano Posted November 1, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted November 1, 2013 It's a nice start but I think you should tone down most of your bumps, it's a bit too harsh and between scaly skin and concrete right now. You got larger one, smaller one, in that regard it's ok, but you lack the actual skin in there (around the eyes for instance), it's not something you can stamp on, you need to follow the eyeball to form the wrinkles. Same around the corner of the mouth. You started to do that but you used a large radius all around, and you need to spend more time doing finer details here. You got large shapes (the fatty part under the neck, the bulge around the "cheek", that extra wrinkling thick skin around the eyes), that's step one, you barely started 2 (finer detail, skin flow around the frog structure mainly), and went crazy with step 3 (micro detail). The shape is right, proportions look ok too, so it's a good start but you went too fast into detailing, take the time to grow your sculpt, I tend to do that too but it's hurting your work in the end. One step at a time (or if you don't want to do that in a specific order, at least keep those three stages in your mind when alternating between them) ! Contributor Malo Posted November 1, 2013 Author Contributor Report Share Posted November 1, 2013 Many thanks. Hm, looks like i run into the same problems as usual i do with my heads. Not enough details/wrong details. That was the last stage until i start the details of the skin. You mean i miss "step 2" compledly? ,,,take the time to grow your sculpt,,, How could i do that, or how did you mean that?
Contributor BeatKitano Posted November 1, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted November 1, 2013 The saggy eye lids are better defined in this wip shot, the micro details are too strong then on those areas. And it's logical they should be less present in that area, same goes for the lips which should be more "bony" with a somewhat thiner skin and less covered of "dwarts". You could help sell the skin with more defined fatty parts, right now they are a bit too blobby. About the growyour sculpt part, it's what I meant: you went to fast on microdetails here. Advanced Member chingchong Posted January 7, 2014 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 7, 2014 i think its called a "well", nice weapon. looks like a swiss army knife, but not sure how to fold The Top(roof)of the well could need some variation (die Ziegel sehen zu ordentlich aus für meinen Geschmack, und den Brunnen eventuell etwas breiter in Relation zum Dach machen, aber wie gesagt nur mein Geschmack)

Member Cowtail Posted June 1, 2014 Member Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 Very nice, I like the texturing you've done. I'm mighty tempted to give Substance Designer a shot. The trigger area seems slightly primitive, though I'm probably thinking too much into it :P I'd like to see this in the hands of a character
