Member lildragon Posted April 18, 2014 Member Report Share Posted April 18, 2014 Hi, just wondering if there's a way to select disconnected pieces of geo once merged together? And I know peeps wondered about this before, but is polygrouping possible akin to Zbrush's?
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted April 18, 2014 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted April 18, 2014 You can select them when using the Pose tool, but generally 1 layer = 1object. That can be separated into a child layer, using the SPLIT tool. Basically with the SPLIT tool, you drag select the item and it not only separates it, but creates a new layer for you and places it into that layer, for you. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted April 18, 2014 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted April 18, 2014 Also, if you are in Surface mode, you can right-click the layer and choose SEPARATE DISCONNECTED PIECES, and it should create a sub-hierarchy for all those parts. This way you have either global control (parent) or local (child)...which ever way you prefer to work. When using the Pose Tool there are two very important options to keep in mind. One is THROUGH ALL VOLUMES (which will manipulate all visible layers). The other is CONFORM RETOPO MESH. This will try to keep any Retopo mesh you have, conformed to the large scale changes you make in the Voxel Room. Conform Retopo Mesh:
