There you can download V3 Release candidate for Linux

Both 32 and 64 bit versions available

http://www.3d-coat.com/~sergyi/3D-Coat-V3-RC4.tar.gz

(there should not be issue wit tifflib as it was before) Also all recent 3D-Coat changes are included in this build.

Several notes about possible problems:

If you have any visual issues please set "System -> Preferences -> Appearance -> Visual Effects -> None".

For navigation you can use either "Super" ("Windows logo") or "Alt" key, but

for better experience please set "System -> Preferences -> Windows -> Movement key -> Super"

How to manage swap files under Linux.

Show your swap files with Terminal command

swapon -s

If the list is empty you should create swap file with Terminal commands

sudo dd if=/dev/zero of=/swapfile bs=1M count=2000 (or whatever size you want in megabytes)

sudo mkswap /swapfile

sudo swapon /swapfile

To make swap file permanent

sudo gedit /etc/fstab

Add at the end of the file and save

/swapfile none swap sw 0 0

Right bottom of that page.

Edit: Opps, sorry, that's V3 to V3; not the option you want.

Cool.

One thing I notice right off, is that there is no way to upgrade your license from win to win/linux or mac to mac/linux, or of course win/mac/linux. Will that be an option, or, if it is there already, what am I missing?

I received the serial number but when I enter it and press register, 3d-coat shuts down and I get a browser window with 'Thanks for registering'

Everytime I open 3d-coat I need to enter serial number and the above happens

hey there,

one question, will there be an discount for Linux V3, like the discount for Win V3 after Downloading the Test Version?

When will the temporary Order Page for Linux go finally Online?

thx

Puddie

It is online now. You can purchase Linux V3 here:

http://www.3d-coat.com/buy_now_temp.html

For only 200$ Prof version, but the price will increase very soon and then it will be 235$ with discount.

Hi there! I just came back from holiday and I was excited to try new RC3 released but there is a huge problem in my computer. I can't use my mouse with 3d-coat at all. It moves but dosne't respond when i'm pressing the button. With all others programs it works but in 3d-coat RC3 (32 and 64 bit) it dosen't respond.I tried RC2 and it works there, it's only RC3. I can minimize, mazmimize and close the window. My keyboard works. I can press esc and it will go from registeration window to "which tool to use" window. Maybe it is my xorg.conf?? Need some help, please?

RC3 has been updated just now. Please try it. If you still have the problem, please report here and attach “Log.txt” file from the 3d-coat root folder.

And everyone! 3d-coat should support tablet in Ubuntu 9.04 out of the box. If it doesn’t on your computer, or your tablet is not “Wacom”, please report here and attach “Log.txt” file.
