How can I render a video of a 3d scene to a UV image?

Can any show me a way to render out my 3d scene I have have of an object animating to a video of the UV template with the scene within?

I use 3ds Max myself but I would think this technique would not matter which platform.

 

I am using this for 3d projection mapping where I will be physically video projecting onto a sculpture.

 

Anyone?

The tutorial link below uses Maya, but maybe it will still help you. He actually starts to assign the image sequence to a plane in Maya at about 4:15 in the video.

I personally have not tried to apply an image sequence to anything other than a plane in Maya, but I'm guessing it could also work on more complex geometry.

Also I think there are some UV projection tools in Maya which might be able project an image sequence (instead of just a single image) onto geometry. You could check into that as well. Maybe there is stuff like that in Max too...
