Member Andrei Samardac Posted March 9, 2015 Member Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Hay guys, tell me pleas what is the workflow in 3D coat, First create object with Voxels then finish it with Polys then retopology if needed low poly? Voxels only for creating proportions? And details with Polys? Edited March 9, 2015 by Andrei Samardac

Carlosan
Hi! Please visit 3DC youtube channel. Tutorials that aimed on users who are very new to 3D-Coat. Basic operations in a basic workflow.
Member Andrei Samardac Posted March 9, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 (edited) Hay people why not just to tell me - you have to start from voxel and then continue with surfaces. I need only this I do not going to watch all that tutorials i just going to understand basic workflow. Carlosan
Sure Use voxel for block modeling, fast sketches... try to not surpass 1M by model. Voxel mode is equivalent to ZB dynamesh. When your model is ok, switch to surface mode -pressing with LMB the V letter, it change to Surface- At surface mode you can add more detail and the model is ready now to surface paint at Paint room -polypaint- If you need very fine detal, use the set of Live Clay tools. Live clay tools are equivalent to Sculptris type modeling. Take note, there isnt subdivision levels as Mudbox or ZB. Yes you can work in proxy mode at any moment, but the common workflow is voxel, surface, live clay, retopo, bake, paint, export. hope it help.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted March 9, 2015 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted March 9, 2015 I would not go as far as saying only go up to 1 million voxels for blocking in. Voxels can be very effective up to medium details, the finer details left for surface mode. Garagarape Wip gallery models are all done in Voxels and his models look fantastic. Voxels eat more system memory for sure but voxels are still wonderful to work with.
