Member tonyd Posted March 8, 2011 Member Report Share Posted March 8, 2011 Hi again, Another newbie question. On some 3D programs I have encountered which has a feature in which you can import a JPG file and superimpose it on to your model. I cannot seem to find this feature although I am certain 3D coat must have it. Can you direct me to a tut or maybe a quick "how to" ? Thanks again, a really great forum. Advanced Member 3dCoatWannabe Posted March 9, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted March 9, 2011 not sure if this is the correct answer, but there's a background image you can set here: http://www.3dcoat.com/wiki/index.php/9.5_Preferences You can use photos for textures. Found a YouTube video on that:
Member tonyd Posted March 16, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted March 16, 2011 Thanks for the information! What I was looking for actually was using a drawing or photo to over lay on let's say a block. Then be able to use the photo as a guide to sculpt the object. In ClayTools it is called import image. I then have access to JPG files to import. The image is then burned into the object and I can go from there. Been having great fun with 3DC, really excellent! philnolan3d
Nothing like that in here, not that I know of anyway. The best you can do is load it as a reference image as shown here:
