Advanced Member Pimpmymonkey Posted February 1, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 1, 2009 Nicely done. I like the concept and the design. Very well done, P. Monk
Advanced Member ggaliens Posted February 1, 2009 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 1, 2009 Thanks pimpmonkey. I'm having a great deal of fun alpha testing the VOX sculpt stuff. Andrew is a ROCK STAR in my book for getting this VOX stuff working so well. I've been putting off buying a sculpting tool like SILO or ZBRUSH for a long time now. I bought Hexagon 2 for sculpt a few years ago and man what a mistake that was. Thankfully only a $30.00 mistake. So now I'm detailing old Wings3D meshes as was always my hope/dream. My kids are also getting involved with this app.
Advanced Member ggaliens Posted February 1, 2009 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 1, 2009 Test To See if my personal photo works. OK ... I guess it is called an avatar. Not as cool as your pimpmymonkey. But it is something.

Advanced Member ggaliens Posted February 8, 2009 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 8, 2009 More fooling with 3DCoat and Wings3D. Old models ... new 3DCoat setting and render. Lots of fun. Cave made with hand subtracted from sphere.
Advanced Member Pimpmymonkey Posted February 14, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 14, 2009 More fooling with 3DCoat and Wings3D.Old models ... new 3DCoat setting and render. Lots of fun. Cave made with hand subtracted from sphere. Nice work! Great concept. I agree with your old models statement. I have been trying some recycling myself. Your concepts are quite impressive. I lean more to character creation myself. Thank you for your kind words about my avatar...he is a work in progress....I've learned a lot from him. I agree with you about Hexagon....so much promise and so little development. Have you tried sculpting in Blender.....it's better than the sculpting in modo and the polygonal sculpting in 3D-Coat. For doing quick mock ups it is sometimes easier for me to rough them in in Blender sculpt and then drop them into Vox Sculpt. Anyways...I like your work...keep it up, P. Advanced Member ggaliens Posted February 15, 2009 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 15, 2009 I must say I do fill a bit silly for not having tried Blender in the several years since it underwent the big fund-drive. But I'm a Wings3D Plugin developer and I do like Wings3D for medium weight polygon meshes. Wings seems to have enough polygon tricks to make it "CLOSE" to being a scuptor in the hands of someone well versed. See TWEAK and CONNECT modes. Yeah ... its not a realy polygon sculptor ine thee sense fo Hex, Modo, Blender, Zbruh, SILO. It is awsome at medium to medium-low res meshes. I'll be doing more soup-to-nuts 3DCoat VOXEL sculpting soon. PimpMyMonkey ... what video card and video card RAM do you have ??? Mine is NVidia with only 256MB Ram. I think for pure voxel sculpting, I might need to upgrade soon. But I'm trying to gather opinions on this.

Advanced Member ggaliens Posted February 23, 2009 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 23, 2009 I probably like him better w/o wings too. I just had to try them out. Was pretty happy that it was easy to add an extra mask for doing the vein displacement in the wings. I'm not really even doing true artwork in 3DCOat yet. Most of what I'm doing is just getting used to some of the tools.
