Hi guys

I am looking into using this software on a commercial license but someone over on another forums reports that there might be a snag in the License agreement preventing me from, for instance, being able to sell my meshes in the future if they'd been run through 3D coat.

Can anyone confirm this either is or isn't the case? Really hope to use it, looks perfect for my needs.

Thanks in advance

About Atom post, is true for Education version.
For commercial usage you need to buy Professional version.

Limitation of Education version:
1) no commercial usage
2) textures size to export is limited to 2048x2048
3) layers amount is limited to 7

I don't understand how there could be a problem selling meshes now or in the future, if you are using a COMMERCIAL license. They were probably referring to EDUCATION / NON-COMMERCIAL licenses, as Carlos pointed out. I think Andrew allows the EDU version on Steam, to be used to create and sell some of your in-game assets on a few platforms...but it's not for commercial use in general.

Hi arumiat!

You can definitely use 3DC commercially, with the commercial license. With the Steam version, you can publish/sell on DOTA2.

Would you mind telling me which forum this was mentioned on? I would like to go set the record straight there so it doesn't perpetuate. :) Thanks!

Hi all

It was something brought up on the Blender forum, thread here Javis.

Makes complete sense that with a commercial license you can do that but you do hear of horror stories, glad to get it clarified.

And just to say, great bit of kit that will prove priceless for my workflow ongoing, I'm buying  :D
