Member 3DTutorial Posted April 9, 2014 Member Report Share Posted April 9, 2014 I've got some scan data that I want to bring into 3DC. I want to maintain maximum detail quality when importing the 3d scan mesh into 3DC and converting to voxels. Can someone tell me how to achieve the maximum quality? 3DC always seems to soften the details quite a bit upon conversion... how can I keep the details sharp and maintain detail? Any tips would be most appreciated. Kind Regards, J
Carlosan
try merge without voxelize
Member 3DTutorial Posted April 9, 2014 Author Member Report Share Posted April 9, 2014 Hi, Thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes, I know about that option... but doesn't that simply create a "surface" object? Suppose, I want or need to have a voxel object...what can I do to preserve detail? Thanks! Carlosan
ahhhh voxel layer before merge... Increase resolution trial and error... i dont know your model complexity Size matter too... more big... more voxels... more detail

Member 3DTutorial Posted April 9, 2014 Author Member Report Share Posted April 9, 2014 Yes, autoscale does help. I was just wondering if there was something I was missing. I will continue to experiment. Thanks again! J
Javis
That should cover most of it, also note that scaling does increase the resolution as well, but as a general rule having objects too large or too small can cause problems. So it's a good idea to increase the resolution beforehand, as Carlos suggested.
