Advanced Member Aleksey Posted August 28, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 28, 2015 Generally ive been just using the brushes on the left and tweaking their settings, but now ive decided to try the presets, i think they where called "artmans brushes" before. and its all a bit confusing. They generally seem to be a lot nicer than the ones on the right which are the ones that are visible straight away and the first things i click on. Shouldn't these settings just be the default. specifically im looking at the flatten brush. night and day difference. and for some reason its using the rapid brush to achieve these results instead of the flatten tool... can anyone point to an explanation for this parallel system? Contributor TimmyZDesign Posted August 28, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted August 28, 2015 You can tweak the settings of the default 3D-Coat brushes and then save your changes as Presets. Artman (a user on this forum) spent a lot of time tweaking the settings of the default surface mode/LiveClay brushes, saved those changes as a group of presets, then shared those presets with the community for free. We all loved the presets so much that they have now been included as default preset brushes when you install 3D-Coat. Feel free to experiment and create your own presets! Maybe you are right that Artman's presets should just be the default brushes (since they are so good), but on the other hand, they also serve as an excellent example of what is possible when a user takes advantage of 3D-Coat's preset system, therefore opening up possibilities for further experimentation and preset sharing in the future.
