Thanks for the kind words.

This one took time, with pc power issues.

But it is not done yet. Have to pose him (which is always a pain to me...).

I add a bit of sub-surface scattering on the wings.

Now it is too static as a final pose. Time to read books about rigging.

Thanks ajz3d!

I did a quick test for the pose to see if the bones are in the right place.

It is not skinned right, just the default smooth bind skin.

I progress slowly because I'm stuck on an analog wood sculpt (pirade gun).

Will post a pic if it worth it when it is done.

Michalis, I'm not patient at all. I just don't like things to be left undone.

I think I would'nt proceed the same way if it was to be done once more though.

First I would sculpt the model with a neutral pose. Or may be sculpt the body parts separately.

for example there was no need to keep a texture area for the whole tail or neck; one ring for the neck

and one for the tail that would be duplicated to build the whole was enough, and probably more easy

to handle. You can notice there are deformation on the bended neck because I couldn't totaly get rid

of the pose the dragon had when I retopoed it. But anyway, it brings an irregularity that is not too bad (but not fully controled).

Yes there are surely other ways.

Thanks Michalis. There's so much to learn, about painting, and also 3D, and not enough time...

I see by your wonderful marble sculpts that Blender has great capacity to render realistic stone feel, and other stuff.

I'd like to give it a shot, but I'm struggling with mel script these days. May be later (which could be when I retire...)

Here is another lighting trial. also changed the textures a bit. Can't get rid of the toy feel.

Chris > Thanks! wassup in France? :)

Alvordr > The artifacts are probably the result of not using "backface culling" = the rear part of the wing casts strange shadows on the other side...

Started some elements for a scene behind the dragon.

Great, it comes great.

The great ray harryhausen passed away yesterday at 92

Here's a scene that has it all. A cathedral, fire, a Trex. Oh my...

I loved this guy. Bizarre!! Cult at its best.
