Member Robert G Posted August 27, 2014 Member Report Share Posted August 27, 2014 (edited) Hey guys,I started working on a worm quite a while ago, its meant to be a main character of a short movie I want to make. The initial idea is in the first picture. I later realized that for the story it would be better for him to be a little bit more human like and to be able to walk. So I did a fast change that you can see in the second and third image. Still not really certain about how it ads up to the rest of the character. I would appreciate any of your suggestions/comments before I proceed. Thanks a lot. Member Aabel Posted August 28, 2014 Member Report Share Posted August 28, 2014 I have to say I like him more without legs. He doesn't look like a worm with both arms and legs. His mouth also is reading a bit flat, if you could curve it around his head a bit more it would add more depth and interest to him. He could also use a few more worm anatomy details. Contributor Tony Nemo Posted August 28, 2014 Contributor Report Share Posted August 28, 2014 He could also use a few more worm anatomy details. Like segments and caterpillar legs would work.
Member Robert G Posted August 29, 2014 Author Member Report Share Posted August 29, 2014 (edited) Thanks a lot guys, very much appreciated! Good you brought up the mouth Aabel, I was struggling with something useful for a while and then forgot about it, yes maybe more mouth/less lips. Still don't know what to do with the legs, will try to do something with Tony's suggestion although I also have doubts because the point is to make him more of a human rather than an insect. But yes, its good to experiment here! Another solution might be to have two parts stretching out of his bottom parts only when he needs to walk, then have him shuffle/walk. Don't know if its doable animation wise though. Regards, Robert Edited August 29, 2014 by Robert G

Contributor Tony Nemo Posted August 29, 2014 Contributor Report Share Posted August 29, 2014 Think of the hookah smoking caterpillar in Wonderland for more human.
Member Robert G Posted November 5, 2014 Author Member Report Share Posted November 5, 2014 Stubborn as I am I still tried to make this guy work with legs, but I had to give up, no legs for him indeed. Little update, most importantly the mouth, but also the hands and some other. I think he's becoming better.
