Member dhpdigital Posted October 11, 2011 Member Report Share Posted October 11, 2011 Hi. I've imported an obj, re UV mapped it in 3DCoat. I need to shape it a little so go to the Sculpt page and make adjustments. All looks good and smooth, then I go to Paint and I get tiny artefacts. I test export and see there are glitches in the normal map, but not the displacement. I can't find out how to smooth these bits out. Please help. But if you want deform object it is better to use per pixel painting instead of microvertex painting (or ptex).
Member dhpdigital Posted October 11, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted October 11, 2011 Does this still give me a displacement map? I though MV was the way to do this?
Andrew Shpagin
Does this still give me a displacement map? I though MV was the way to do this? In PPP you may paint and export displacement, but if displacement will be big then visual problems will appear. If you want to use MV please check UV set quality. Member dhpdigital Posted October 11, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted October 11, 2011 Thank you Andrew. I really appreciate your help. I'm very new to this and have taken on a professional project which I need to use this for. Also thanks for such a wonderful program, and keeping the cost at a level that is realistic for the end users
