Member RJ-45 Posted May 12, 2009 Member Report Share Posted May 12, 2009 I am making terrain and low-poly chanracter, I work with blender, FragMotion, T.Ed (terrain editor). here is my chalenges. Character modeling: I have no idea how to paint those UV map, orange peal. Never found a tutorial on this. Can I paint direct on mesh with Coat? Terrain: I create terrain with T.Ed or Blender, but putting texture to it and painting is not easy. Blender and t.ed I hate the way they do it. Can I import my terrain in .x (directX) and paint texture on it? Thanks

Look unwrapping tut on the page: http://www.3d-coat.com/video_tutorial.html What about terrain - if you have uv-map over it - you can paint it in 3D-Coat. But we can't import x-files directly, you need to convert them to OBJ(or write plugin :P).
Advanced Member kay_Eva Posted May 13, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 13, 2009 I'm a blender user too. In my opinion 3dCoat is brilliant at terrain. I use voxel --> poly --> paint for just about everything I can at this point.
Member RJ-45 Posted May 14, 2009 Author Member Report Share Posted May 14, 2009 Thanks, but can I paint directly on the model, I tryed the unwrap tutorial, but what is the next step after to paint my model? Thanks
Javis
The next step depends on what you personally need to do. If you want to paint, just click on the Paint tab and start your painting.
