Member siegfried Posted October 13, 2015 Member Report Share Posted October 13, 2015 Hello! I am trying to paint my model using metal smart material - problem is preview shows material ok, but when I paint over model it is just black paint. I tried to adjust scene lights, change depth, color etc, nothing works. It is probably something really, really stupid but I feel like I ran out of options - please help I am using GTX 970 with latest drivers Best regards
Contributor Michaelgdrs Posted October 13, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted October 13, 2015 Hi , 1) you are painting only glossiness. 2) Enable depth / normals and color

Contributor Tony Nemo Posted October 14, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted October 14, 2015 Last guess: deselect "Show voxels in Paint Room".
Member siegfried Posted October 14, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted October 14, 2015 (edited) if I do this, everything disappears. I am not sure if this is correct behaviour as my Voxtree layers are: - (S) body (this is default character generated by 3dcoat) - (S) armor (this is generated using Vox Layer and then converted to S) - (V) legs (part of generated Vox Layer) another interesting thing is now i played a bit with layers and in the paint room model looks like it is ghosted (see attached) - is it possible it is inside out or something? Carlosan
View > Smooth Shade Roughness = 0% Metalness = 100% Camera > background > use environment map or could you please paint using Shift + M Surface Sculpting select the Big Sphere
Member siegfried Posted October 17, 2015 Author Member Report Share Posted October 17, 2015 I can paint metals over big sphere, no problem. Still cannot paint over the model - so I guess it is problem with the model.
Contributor ajz3d Posted October 17, 2015 Contributor Report Share Posted October 17, 2015 (edited) The sculpt looks corrupted. It seems that there are at least two Z-fighting sculptures present in the scene, both on the same layer. Convert the layer to voxels to merge them and then convert the layer back to surface. You shouldn't have more problems with it afterwards. Or, considering the sculpture is in very early stage, drop it and start over. Member Solution siegfried Posted October 25, 2015 Author Member Solution Report Share Posted October 25, 2015 Hello! Thanks everyone for help - I found out what was wrong. In sculpt mode there is shaders selection - I was using 3rd shader. If I change to first (standard), then everything works fine
